value #0 contains invalid data

It seems to me that if there were anything wrong with the schema or ACL,
I would have no success updating anything.  Yet the liprefs item is
updated.  Is there any way to get a view of the invalid data the error
message is talking about?  I'm a newbie to ldap so sorry if I'm missing
something obvious here.
