International Telephone Number Question

If I want to add telephone numbers to my LDAP database using the
"international form", how do I add extensions?

For example, my work telephone number (in the United States) is
(949) 458-1911 extension 3. In "international form" would my telephone
number be
    +1 949 458 1911 3
or
    +1 949 458 1911 x 3
or
    +1 949 458 1911 ext 3
or
    +1 949 458 1911 extension 3
or something else?

I am very ignorant when it comes to international telephone numbers.

Thanks,
Chuck Coker

>From RFC 2252:

6.30. Telephone Number

   ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.50 DESC 'Telephone Number' )

Values in this syntax are encoded as if they were Printable String
types. Telephone numbers are recommended in X.520 to be in
international form, as described in E.123 [15].

   Example:

      +1 512 305 0280
