rootpw {SASL}userid@REALM.COM

Or

rootpw {SASL}userid

Depending on the sasl-realm setting.

The documentation refers to using SASL to authenticate the root DN,
instead of rootpw. However, I haven't been able to find any infomation
on how to do this.
