Build Problems
We attempted to build the latest version of openLDAP following the steps in
the Admin Guide. First we installed the prerequisite software:
cyrus-sasl-1.5.24
openssl-0.9.6a
db-3.2.9
and then finally:
openldap-2.0.11
All the builds configured, built and installed properly. However when we
start slapd we get the following message:
ld.so.1: ./slapd: fatal: libsasl.so.7: open failed: No such file or
directory
All files appear to be there (including libsasl.so.7) with proper
permissions. Has anyone come across this problem and/or be able to help us
solve this problem.
