Using the -f option in ldapsearch

I'm trying to specify a set of filters in a file and use the option -f in
ldapsearch, but it is not picking up the filter I specify in the file. What
am I doing wrong??

ldapsearch -h evasdev -p 4568 -b clid_ip -f /tmp/ldapsearch.in %s

uses the default filter.

/tmp/ldapsearch.in
-------------------
"calling_station_id=12345"
"calling_station_id=23456"

PS: Using ldap-2.0.7
