"A RW LDAP server shall provide this value in the supportedExtension
attribute: 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.20037, for the Start TLS extended operation."

Are you trying to do Start TLS on your slave w/o it compiled in?  Also,
I'm assuming above that by "server" you mean the slave.

If you're not sure, post your slapd.conf for master and slave (without
passwords, etc, of course).
