Connection via Netscape 4.7 on Win98

I am still struggling to access my LDAP server from a Win98 client with
Netscape 4.7. Below is a copy of the syslog for the transaction. The
Netscape address book shows no real results when I click on the icon for
the LDAP directory I defined. Rather is simply tries to connect and then
simply waits and waits until I cancel the connection manually.

Although the log says that the search base="", in the Netscape
definition of the directory, I have actually put "ou=perfectproof" as
the base definition.
Can anyone suggest to me what might be going wrong?
