Newbie Netscape problem

I have downloaded and set-up openldap 2.0.7 as in the Quick Start guide.

Using the ldapadd function I have created the main dn called "manager"
in my case. Using ldapsearch I can confirm that the "manager" entry
exists.

I have launched Netscape 4.7 and tried to establish a new address book
pointing to my linux mahcine with slapd running. I cannot get Netscape
to connect to the ldap server. It simply waits and waits.

Can Netscape be a client to browse the ldap directory on my linux
machine?
