Active directories and OpenLDAP

Hiya all. 

i just wanted to know if i can replace active
directories with OpenLDAP running on Linux and let
services on M$ access the LDAP server and not know the
difference - specially Exchange 

if any body has done this before could u feel generous
to donate a howto
