I don't know the answer to your question since I don't have access
to GCC on Solaris. What did you see?

I have configured Openldap with this option:
LIBS="-sfio"; export LIBS
./configure
And in the Makefile I have added the librarie -lpthread
AC_LIBS =... -lpthread
