Openldap 1.2.11 eating memory (fwd)

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am presently running Openldap 1.2.11 server on a Redhat 6.2 server.
Unfortunately, today, slapd has started memory leaking; however, I can't
figure out why. The server itself is a dual processor PIII with 512Meg
RAM. There are roughly 8,000 users who authenicate off this server.

Today, out of no-where, slapd just started eating up all the system memory
until it was all gone. When I restart slapd, it starts over again eating
up all the memory. I thought it might have been a database problem. I
copied over some backup ldbm files; however, this has not resolved the
issue. Next, I tried building the ldbms from a backup ldif file. This
didn't resolve the issue either. As a last stance, I rebooted the server
and performed the above again. This also has not fixed the issue.

Why is it that this server has run fine for over 100 days and then all of
a sudden slapd starts memory leaking?

Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Scott McDaniel
