How to clear out an Org Unit?

I need to clear out an Org Unit every Friday, and refresh the data from a
tab delimed file (exported from Act), using a Perl import scrpt.

Can someone suggest a simple way to delete all stale entries in that org
unit? Am I mistaken in thinking that I must first delete all the children?
Or can I just wipe out that parent ou?
