OpenLDAP server securisation

I've already send an email about SASL use on OPENLDAP, but there was  no
answer.
Is there anybody that use OpenLdap in a secure way :
    authentification with a SASL mechanism
    SSL

I didn't find any complete information on installing, configuriing and
using SASL mechanism on OpenLDAP.
I found a paper on SSL.

Is there any available documentation on SASL and OpenLDAP because I try
to configure OpenLdap but I didn't manage to make it work. I 'am a new
in LDAP  an I can't find where I make thing wrong.
