/etc/passwd authentication for Netscape roaming

I am running openldap-1.2.9-5 on RH6.2.  I wish
to add netscape roaming to my LDAP directory server
and wish to have users authenticate themselves for
access to their ldap information through the
/etc/passwd.  Can I do this - how?
