Why manually? You can do "dos2unix < input.ldif > output.ldif" under Linux.
Or if your distribution does not ship dos2unix, you can use
"tr -d ^M < input.ldif > output.ldif" too (entering ^M under bash: press
Ctrl+V and then press Ctrl+M).
