sudden death

everything has been working fine for quite some time now, but now im getting
weird occurrences, my acl looks like this:

defaultaccess   read
access to   attr=userpassword
        by self write
        by dn="uid=god,o=foo,c=bar" write
        by * compare
access to *
        by dn="uid=god,o=foo,c=bar" write
        by * read

i cant search and connect fine with web2ldap and webldap (both obviously web
frontends) but i cant connect now with eudora or outlook express, any ideas
why?
