Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to use SSL with slapd (2.0) without using client certificates. I would like to protect the communication between the client and slapd, including the transfer of the user-entered user-dname and password, (at least the password) but have the back-end "bind" function called to perform the authentication, using the user record in my database.
