openldap pam and indexes

Hi all ,

Excuse the Openldap newbie I am I was wonder :

1 .I have got a openldap server with already loaded some of my company info

ldapsearch -b 'o=slb,c=an' cn=test
cn=test1  159665,ou=room,o=SLB,c=AN
objectclass=top
objectclass=room
objectclass=slbAdmin
objectclass=organizationalUnit
objectclass=slbRoom
alias=test1
c=US
countryName=US
cn=test
cn=test1  159665
commonName=test
commonName=test1  159665
createtimestamp=19980827131625Z
creatorsname=cn=LDAP Admin  100000,ou=role,o=SLB,c=AN

All is running on Linux and I wanted to use my corporate directory in coordination with a pam utility.

Meaning that a ldap uid/passwd could be also my user/passwd for my Unix Box .

2. How do I create an index for instance for the uid ??

How can I do that ? Any ideas,suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks Abde
