Updated check: Taking down all interfaces on 'ldap', connecting the NIC to a hub, and setting the if to a private IP, with the client on same network, WORKS. Setting both machines to a public IP, DOESN'T work! As soon as there is a public IP, things stop working... This is WAY beyond my understanding!! --
