PerLDAP depends upon the Netscape/Mozilla LDAP C SDK.  PerLDAP
and other Netscape LDAP SDKs interoperate with OpenLDAP LDAP
servers.

Other choices include net::LDAP and net::LDAPapi.  net::LDAP
is a pure Perl module and is under active development.
net::LDAPapi depends upon an underlying LDAP C SDK, such as
OpenLDAP 1.x, but is deprecated (in favor of PerLDAP).  Both
interoperate with OpenLDAP LDAP servers.
