bash-3.2$ grep -rI libslapi.a servers/slapd/
servers/slapd/Makefile:SLAPI_LIBS=libslapi.a -lltdl
servers/slapd/Makefile:slapd: $(SLAPD_DEPENDS) libslapi.a

:)  This is HEAD as of today.  No difference in Makefile.in, configure or so.
