Ehhhhhhhhh. I didn't (really) mean to send this. Although morally this 
shouldn't be a SEGV, this was the result of running out of disk space. I 
wasn't really going to press it.

Still, if there's an opportunity to more gracefully handle the negative 
return, that might be kinder...
