Syntax of undefined attributes?

In schema_prep.c:
slap_at_undefined.sat_syntax = slap_schema.si_syn_distinguishedName;
Is there any special reason? I'd need it to be as much neutral as
possible, to allow undefined attributes to be returned by back-ldap;
something like octetString.
