No. See openldap.m4 for check order (which differs slightly
between the branches).  I don't see anything wrong with
orders used.

I suspect your build environment is hosed.  Having to
create symlinks between library directories seems odd
to me.  Should work just fine without them (if you
use environment variables to properly select desired
library directories).
