That reminds me:

  ./configure --enable-bdb --enable-ldbm --with-ldbm-api=gdbm

fails with:

  configure: error: LDBM API not compatible with BDB

Is that beacuse back-bdb used libldbm once?  If so, configure need not
forbid this now.
