How to configure openldap for ACLs with postgreSQL as backend

Hi All,
Please suggest me a way to authenticate openldap with postgreSQL.
I tried it with Cyrus SASL. But I couldn't finish it properly.

When I tried to configure openldap it's giving the following error.

I tried to configure openldap with the following options :::

export LDFLAGS="-L/home/ramu/ramu/install/lib -R/home/ramu/ramu/install/lib"
export CPPFLAGS="-I/home/ramu/ramu/install/include"

./configure --disable-ldbm --enable-sql --prefix=/home/ramu/ramu/include
--with-cyrus-sasl --exec-prefix=/home/ramu/ramu/install --enable-spasswd

The error that I am getting is :::

checking for sasl.h... yes
checking for sasl_client_init in -lsasl... no
configure: error: Could not locate Cyrus SASL
