slapd logging

This is really picky, I know, but when I run slapd with -d 1,
I really only want a some very basic output.  I'd like to see
any errors, a line that a request has come in, and a line
when a response is sent.  I don't particularly need to see
the BER output, caching, and ACI processing.  Does anyone
else feel this way, or am I the only one?
