Status of MacOS port?

Hi there,

I am new to this list. Can anybody tell me about the status of the MacOS
port of OpenLDAP? (Not talking about MacOS X but earlier versions,
preferably 7.x.)
Questions of interest to me are:
Is there a version of OpenLDAP which already works with MacOS
If yes, which one and on which Hardware and MacOS-Version does it run
If not, can anybody give me a hint on what's to do to get a working version
(working with MetroWorks CodeWarrior)

I have quite some programming experience but only little with the Mac and
none with porting software to the Mac.
Any help would be appreciated.
