At some point (soon) we'll have to remove that dependency and go back to using 
a per-thread read-only transaction for back-bdb's entry cache locking. The 
__lock_getlocker() function is no longer exported in BDB 4.7.

Fortunately we still have the old read-only txn code in CVS.
