I screwed things up, because I was building on Opteron, and ld
complained about some non-relocatable symbols in libssl.a.  Probably it
either didn't guess well at my system, or I missed something.  So it was
probably me.  Explicitly adding LIBS=-ldl fixed configure, but not the
build later on.  But I think this is off-topic with respect to this ITS.
