The ITS is not for help on software usage; please direct software usage
questions to openldap-software.  In any case, 2.2.29 is ancient, so even
in the case of a bug there are no chances it gets fixed unless it is
still present in currently released code.  In your case, the error is
likely to be on the user's side; see the FAQ for directions about
typical user errors; see RFC4511 (or ldap.h) for mapping between result
codes and diagnostics.
