Running slapd on a single processor machine, I no longer see any 
asserts. Running on my dual machine, if syslog is enabled, I 
occasionally see an assert in slapd_set_read() called from 
connection_read(). With syslog disabled, this problem doesn't occur. No 
bright ideas come to mind at the moment...
