In which case my apologies for the erroneous report.

However, would you mind pointing me in the direction of where that is
documented.  I can't find it either in the man page or the
Administrators guide.  Also, is there any way of overriding this default
behaviour?  

My reason for wanting this is that my subordinate databases are
replicas, so I'd prefer not to have them in the output of slapcat as in
the event of a failure I would restore by copying from their master
server.  I realise that I can either manually edit the output of slapcat
or overwrite the subordinate database directories afterwards, but in the
event of a problem the less messing around is involved the better.
