It can be closed, I wouldn't say it is resolved. ;)

It certainly went away after the DB was rebuilt.  The only thing I can 
surmise is that the syncRepl cookies were not valid somewhere between the 
replica's and the master, and this caused the segfaults.

I'm pondering seeing if I can recreate that type of scenario.
