(attribute=) as search filter woes (ITS#2754)

As I am using postfix with canonical rewrite tables, there is the problem that
it tries to search for an empty username, resulting in a RFC search filter like
this:
(uid=)
Indices are set like this:
uid: pres,eq,sub
Problem: The search times out (the Server needs a long time to return 0 data
sets).
In the logfile, a query (?=undefined) appears.
Why does the server needs so long time to reject the query?
