Actually there are other problems, like the snprintf replacement in
liblber not working on Solaris 2.5.1 or Tru64 UNIX 4.0D. The snprintf
replacement is gross so I replaced it with the trio library:

In so doing though, I probably broke some of the EBCDIC stuff. I doubt
you'll accept my patch but I'll post an issue to ITS anyway.
