The only master.log I can find is in
/home/bweissbo/openldap-2.0.11/tests/test-db which is where I built the
distribution. It has:

daemon_init: ldap://localhost:9009/
daemon_init: listen on ldap://localhost:9009/
daemon_init: 1 listeners to open...
ldap_url_parse_ext(ldap://localhost:9009/)
daemon: initialized ldap://localhost:9009/
daemon_init: 1 listeners opened
slapd init: initiated server.
sasl_server_init failed
slapd shutdown: freeing system resources.
slapd stopped.
connections_destroy: nothing to destroy.

Not much different than the debug output to me.

Hmmmm...didn't see anything in the Quickstart guide about SASL
configuration...

Is this a package that I need to add to the system? (Bear with me...I am
real new to this but learning fast.) I grabbed the openldap rpm
only....What other rpms should I have collected and installed?

Thanks in advance.
