Looks like BerkeleyDB does not support GCC spinlocks under
Linux/alpha (or other non-x86 architectures).

Unless you want to write a little assembler code (or modify ldbm.c
to support non-DB_THREAD BerkeleyDB2 use), you'll have to use
GDBM (--with-ldbm-api=gdbm).
