Just trying to informative.  You didn't provide much to go on in
your post.  It appeared to me that you skipped steps 1-6 so
not much more I could but tell you to go through them again.

Can't help you without details... it's best to provide a detail
description of your host environment which operating system,
compiler, hardware, available 3rd party software.  You should
also state your configure options and environment
(CC,CFLAGS,CPPFLAGS,LDFLAGS,LIBS,etc) you are using.

You should then repeat the INSTALL steps in a clean directory
and provide details on what commands you typed and what the
output was.

The current requirement is for BerkeleyDB 2.7.5 or GDBM.
