I assume you used Netscape's ldbmcat and OpenLDAP's ldif2ldbm utility.
I recommend using Netscape's ldbmcat and OpenLDAP's ldapadd utility
as OpenLDAP's ldif2ldbm does no schema checking.

The formats *should* be compatible.
