Just a note, this is not RedHat specific. I've been tracking down the
same problem on a Debian system. Seems what is in common, is glibc 2.1
and db2 (included with glibc 2.1). This is _not_ however a problem
specifically with the db2 in glibc 2.1 (version 2.4.x) since I also
compiled with version 2.7.x of db2, with the same problems.

I don't think the above errors mean anything important, they seem to be
more of a warning. What I do get from turning on verbose messages is that
the db files are created fine with ldif2ldbm, but when slapd or even
ldbmcat tries to open them, db2 reports it does not recognize the
database format/type. Although if I use an ldbmcat binary compiled against
db1 it reads these same databases perfectly fine.
